We had a lovely afternoon today as Mrs Houston visited us and helped us to bake our very own scone! We learned about the ingredients we needed and the method to use. Tomorrow we will use what we have learned to write our very own recipe for baking scones.

P4 – Mummification Experiment (Week 2)
We have been having lots of fun learning all about Ancient Egypt. We are now onto week 2 of our mummification science experiment and this week we had to vacate the classroom because things were getting stinky!! The mummified objects are now looking smaller, browner, thinner, and wrinkly and have no water or juice left in them. The non-mummified objects are very smelly, mouldy, and green and have liquid oozing out of them. If you look at our pictures can you tell the mummified objects from the non-mummified objects?
P4 – Bug Club!
No Pens Wednesday – 4th October
No Pens Day Wednesday encourages schools and settings to put down their pens and to run a day of speaking and listening activities.
This year’s No Pens Day Wednesday will take place on Wednesday 4th October 2017.
No Pens Day Wednesday 2016 reached a total of over 5,700 schools and settings who had signed up to take part in the event since it started in 2011.
What schools who took part in 2016 said…
- 83% of respondents said that taking part in No Pens Day Wednesday 2016 raised their awareness of speech, language and communication needs
- 95% said they’d do things differently around school as a result of their involvement
- 25% of respondents they had identified pupils who were struggling with spoken language that they’d not known about before.
Dyslexia Friendly School – Wear it Blue!
As part of our No Pens Wednesday on the 4th of October each pupil will be asked to come to school wearing something blue! This doesn’t have to be their normal blue school jumper – it can be anything! The more adventurous the better!
Throughout that day and leading up to it we will have blue ribbons on sale that can be yours in exchange for a small donation.
