Online Learning Journals

At Lochnorris we are continuing to use an online system of Learning Journals to record and share significant points of learning with our parents/carers. This system enables you to access and comment on your child’s ongoing progress and learning. Our older pupils will be able to upload and share their own learning with parents/carers.

Parents and carers can access their child’s profile online from home. P1 pupils who have transitioned from Cherry Trees will have have the same learning journal as last session. You should use the same unique username, password and pin that you previously created. If you have forgotten these details, you can reset them on the learning journals website/app.

Security and consent

  • Only you and relevant school staff can access your child’s profile using a unique username as well as a password and PIN that you create. Please do not share this information with others. You can add family members.
    1. Any data collected within the profile, including photos, are for personal use only and should not be published outwith Learning Journals.
    2. All personal data, including photographs, email addresses and information about your child’s progress are stored securely, within the EU.
    3. Data will be retained for the time your child attends Lochnorris Primary School.

Open Afternoons

We look forward to welcoming our parents/carers into school for our first set of open afternoons. Parents/carers are welcome to drop in to our classes between 1:20pm – 2:50pm. The open afternoons will be based around numeracy and mathematics.

The dates for the open afternoons are

Tuesday 26th September – P3 – P4/5

Wednesday 27th September – P1 – P2/3

Thursday 28th September – P5 – P7

Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood

Health & Wellbeing

As part of our health and wellbeing curriculum, our pupils will learn about relationships, sexual health and parenthood. Please find attached the parent leaflets which will provide information on the content and key vocabulary which will be covered during this term. If you do not wish for your child to take part in the health and wellbeing lessons, please contact the school office.
