Secret Agents
This term our topic is Secret Agents.
We are really enjoying it.
The book we are reading in class is called Spy Quest – the Cursed Diamond.
When we visited the library we had two missions to complete about the novel. There were Secret Agents there to help us.
We are really enjoying being Secret Agents and going on missions.
We all have codenames and Miss Roddy is based in HQ, she is Agent Yddor. Get it?
We have been learning what skills we need to be a spy and we know we have to be fit too!!
Healthy May weeks 1 and 2
As part of Healthy May we went a sponsored walk.
Then at the end of the week we played some Commonwealth mini games.
World Book Day and Easter Fun day
Please visit P3’s page, Miss Smets took the photos.
We had lots of fun. Please check it out.
Rugby
On Monday we had a rugby session. We played disco tig and farmers and foxes to warm up. We went in teams and with a rugby ball we had to run up to the redline and touch the rugby ball down and run back and pass to the next teammate. When our team was done we had to sit down.
May news
We did Spy training outside. We were racing and hurdling in our Secret Agency teams. Then we went did some tennis training in our house colours. We also met author Vivian French and illustrator Eilidh Mulholland. Eilidh taught us to draw, copy and colour and to stick all of our drawing on the painting that Eilidh made all by herself. She said it looked boring and we had to add to it to make it a success. The finished work was on display at the Boswell Book Festival. It is now on display in the Boswell centre.
P4 Art of Learning ~ the beginning! By Nicole
Art of Learning – we were looking at the beat.
Ruth MacKay the visiting artist is a harpist. She played a Disney tune for us and a marching tune. We all got a turn at playing the harp. It was hard to play because your hands vibrated when you tried to strum.
We were stomping to the beat in the music. I did not find it easy, I kept getting mixed up and bumping into people as there was a bit of a traffic jam!
We did sums to the beat. Some of them were tricky as we had to write the sum that had an answer between 1 and 8.
P4 News by Nicole & Aaliyah
We were doing an experiment with the body looking at the circulatory system.
Miss Nicholl was taking groups to have shots at making blood.
We used marshmallows for the white blood cells, Cheerios for the red blood cells, for the liquid we used water mixed with food colouring.
We put all the ingredients together and squeezed them in a bag then added them into the bottle with the liquid.
We all took turns to give it a shake!
Then we looked at all the ingredients and talked about what we could see.
In our big book we looked at the organs and made them and stuck them in.
Aaliyah and I did the lettering for the front cover.
Erin made a pop up section that showed the heart and the stomach.
