November 2023 Progress<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Whole School Implementation of An Inclusive Approach<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

All class teachers have explored the Circle Framework Checklists, this involved exploring the classroom environment and making targets for each class.<\/p>\n

Pupil Support and Learning\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Our working party have explored the Glasgow Motivational and Wellbeing Profile (GMWP) tool with their classes.\u00a0 This involves the pupils answering 20 questions around their thoughts and opinions about school.\u00a0 We then collate this information and we explore aspects of wellbeing we may need to explore in more detail with the pupils.<\/p>\n

We are currently analysing this data during our working parties.<\/p>\n

GMWP Pupil Video\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Training and Support<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ten members of our staff have been working closely with our educational psychologists to carry out a novel study linked to the book, ‘The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog’.\u00a0 By Brice Perry and Maia Szalatavitz.<\/p>\n

The novel study explores: Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NME) and one of the key aims is to improve staff confidence and competence in embedding NME practice within their classrooms and across the school community.<\/p>\n

Our next step will be to carry out projects to explore the learning that has taken place.<\/p>\n

Community and Parental Involvement and Engagement\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

We had our first community night this session on the 28th September.<\/p>\n

We had the fire brigade, Captain Conker, Killie Community, Football Fun Factory, a DJ,\u00a0 karoke, colouring competitions, carnival games, and our Dinner Ladies put on lots of fabulous food.<\/p>\n

It was a great night and we can\u00a0 not wait to do our next one.<\/p>\n

Our Primary 6 pupils are currently going through East Ayrshire Training to become wellbeing Champions.<\/p>\n

Period Poverty Group<\/h2>\n

Update November 2023<\/p>\n

Isla Grant, Evie Boax and Rowan Wilson are three primary 7 girls who have joined together with members of Grange Academy and Park School to ensure Period Poverty is tackled on the Campus.<\/p>\n

The girls wrote this letter to all staff and it was sent via email to the whole Campus.<\/p>\n

Dear Staff<\/em><\/p>\n

Rowan, Evie and Isla are girls in the school working together with Grange and Park school to help people in need. Our group is called the Period Poverty Group.<\/em><\/p>\n

We are filling boxes with products and putting them where girls feel most comfortable. Those places are the girls bathroom in the pods, the sunflower room and in one of the art cupboards in the library. Each box will have a special symbol so you can clearly see this.<\/em><\/p>\n

We also have products located in the staff toilets. We will do checks every two weeks in case they run out.<\/em><\/p>\n

Wednesday 20th December<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Rowan and Isla went on a shopping trip with Miss McGougan and Mrs McConnell.\u00a0 They bought a range of clothing for girls to use if they need it during their period.<\/p>\n

The girls are looking forward to sharing everything they have bought with the rest of the school.<\/p>\n
