We had a go at drawing our own skeletons after reading Funny Bones! Aren’t they fab?!
Hallowe’en Fun
We have been having lots of fun this week.
we have played pass the witch’s hat and when the music stops you have to try to sound out a cvc word, eg. red, man, etc.
We have been counting out amounts larger than 10, using spooky hallowe’en beasties.
Some other activities have included making paper plate pumpkins and frankensteins as well as bubbly paint cauldrons and skeletons! We got to practise colour mixing through making our own potions too!
Maths- Daily routines
Today we started to learn all about Time with Mrs Haggerty.
We were learning about our daily routines and remembering there is an order to our day. We watched a wee video clip – Clip about routine Our job was to draw our daily routine.
Afterwards we started with days of the week – we enjoyed singing the days to the Addams Family song. Days Of The Week Addams Family
Don’t forget to keep doing the song so we can remember the song.
Autumn Walk
We had great fun looking at the signs of autumn on our walk to Annanhill park. We got a quick play at the play park too!
We even saw a cheeky squirrel climbing the trees before we came back to school!
Marvellous Me- partner portraits
Our art work has been line drawing this week. We have completed self and partner portraits, looking at our features in the mirror. We remembered to include freckles, glasses, eyelashes, etc. We are very proud of our work…
Sounds
We have started our first set of sounds- a t s i p n.
We are encouraging the children to recognise, form the letter properly, say and identify the sound in words. Ask the children about the song and action for each new song.
All About Me Bags
It has been really interesting learning about each other with our All About Me bags.
Patterns
We have been learning about patterns. We have been creating our own with 2,3 and 4 colours/ shapes and we have been recognising and continuing patterns. We love the pattern dance Banana, Banana, Meatball too!
Coding Fun
Today (3rdSeptember) we were learning about coding with Mrs Haggerty. We got to use Beebots and give them instructions. This is a code.
The buttons are very important as they give the Beebot the message/code on where to go.
