    Pip thinks that he will be seriously punished for fighting the \u2018young gentleman\u2019 but nothing happens.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Miss Havisham asks to see Joe to discuss Pip\u2019s future.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Pip feels uncomfortable at taking Joe into Satis House because Joe appears so ill-at-ease in his best clothes and interacts weirdly with his \u2018betters\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    When Joe is questioned by Miss Havisham he directs the response at Pip. He seems to do this because he is overwhelmed by the weirdness of the situation \u2013 Miss Havisham\u2019s oddness.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Miss Havisham tells Joe she no longer requires Pip to visit the house and pays Joe \u00a325 for his service. Mr Pumblechook takes credit for this payment and Mrs Joe takes the money from Joe.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    Pip says \u2018I should never like Joe\u2019s trade. I had liked it once, but once was not now.\u2019 He means that before he\u2019d gone to Satis House he\u2019d accepted his future as his future.
