Welcome to the new school session.\u00a0 This session Mrs. Thomson is taking over the Reading Stars community group.\u00a0 In the group we have 14 pupils who are leading the Reading stars with Mrs Thomson and already they are making some exciting plans for this session.<\/p>\n

The first Author of the Month is Ross MacKenzie<\/strong>. Galston Primary were very lucky to be presented\u00a0 with a couple of\u00a0 signed copies of his new book The Uninvited<\/strong> which was launched in Glasgow in August. A selection of books written by Ross is available in our school library. #RossMackenzie, #ScottishBookTrust<\/p>\n

We received a donation of books about Hamish McHamish the St. Andrews’ Cat.\u00a0 These stories tell of the adventures of Hamish a ginger\u00a0 cat from St Andrews and are suitable for younger readers.<\/p>\n

Connect Reading Challenge<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The children have been participating in a reading challenge to extend the different types of books they are reading and have been given a grid with suggestions on it, appropriate to their age and stage. Their challenge is to complete 4 books and make a line in the grid. When they have completed it they should return it to Ms Cox or Mrs Milne.<\/p>\n
