<\/a><\/p>\nThank you to everyone who contributed to the swap and eco wardrobe.\u00a0 We were able to provide new jumpers for some who had outgrown their own, new jumpers for those who had none and party clothes to sparkle in.\u00a0 Your generous help was well received and a huge thank you from the pupil council and Eco group for your help.<\/p>\n
The Eco wardrobe continues throughout the session and can be accessed in the school foyer between the doors.\u00a0 Keep contributing, help to reduce waste and help others.<\/p>\n

A huge well done to everyone!<\/p>\n Dear parents\/carers,<\/p>\n Did you know?<\/p>\n 69% of our food waste here in East Ayrshire is being put in our household waste bin instead of our food recycling bin.<\/p>\n We are delighted to advise that your child\u2019s school will be participating in East Ayrshire\u2019s Food Recycling Initiative \u2018Dinnae forget your Caddy!\u2019 The aim of the programme is to raise awareness of the food items that can be recycled and encourage more families across our community to recycle their food waste at home between February and June 2026.<\/p>\n How it works<\/p>\n Participation in this programme will encourage all our young people and families to: \u2022 Learn about the importance of recycling our food waste (click here to find out more) \u2022 Learn how to recycle food waste here in East Ayrshire \u2013 (click here to find out more)<\/p>\n What we would like you do:<\/p>\n \u2022 Choose a name for your family\u2019s kerbside caddy. Write your chosen name on the lid\/front of your kerbside caddy \u2022 Let us know the name of your caddy by registering it here.<\/p>\n \u2022 Recycle your food waste at home, present your caddy for collection each week and enter your school recycling monthly prize draw \u2013 click here to find out when your caddy collection day is<\/p>\n \u2022 Can you share your knowledge and encourage anyone else to recycle their food waste too and help to raise your Community Caddy Count? *** To request a kitchen and\/or kerbside caddy, please email waste@east-ayrshire.gov.uk ***<\/p>\n Below you can see the highest percentage of caddies that have been presented for collection in your area. <\/a>We did it!<\/p>\n<\/a>Led by Reece, Faith and Logan in P7 the group of children working with Mr. McAughtrie, Ms. Field and Mrs. Thomson have been successful in gaining an Eco School Green Flag.\u00a0 With help and support for their activities, from the whole school, they have worked to make Galston Primary a Green Flag School.\u00a0 The activities which included litter picks, switching off lights to save electricity, planning for learning in the outdoors, checking on insect and wildlife, taking learning outdoors and recycling have kept the committee busy this session.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
