Good luck to all our Burns Finalists who are going to Belmont Academy on Saturday 1st March to compete in the Burns Federation Competition. Remember you have already shown yourself to be confident individuals and you will be fantastic!
Congratulations Enterprising P3
How enterprising are Primary 3? Their Best Scottish Tuckshop really was the best. They managed to raise the grand total of:
£657.94
Amazing! Thank you to all of the children, parent/carers and local businesses who helped them to raise this phenomenal amount. We very much appreciate your support.
Now they are just having to work out what to spend it on!
PE Kit Letter
Dear Parent/Carer
We have noticed that there has been a lot of children forgetting to bring PE kit to school on their PE days. This results in children being unable to take part and having to sit at the side. Could you please read the attached letter and ensure that your child brings a PE kit to school on the days allocated to their class.
Thank You

P3 Enterprise – Scottish Tuck Shop
Next week sees the return of the P3 Scottish Tuck Shop. This was a very popular event last year and the children are keen to see it return.
The classes have a timetable of their tuck shop day as shown below:
Base 4 children and Mrs Smith’s P6/7 – Monday 17th
Base 3 children – Tuesday 18th
Base 2 children – Wednesday 19th (most of P3 have chosen to have this during their Parents Open Afternoon but they can have it for snack should they wish)
Primary 2 in Base 2 will be given a time slot before break to purchase items.
Base 1 children – Thursday 20th
On the last day, Friday 21st, the children will have an opportunity to buy from the tuck shop for the final time as a trolley will come round before break.
If possible please bring change with you for your items.
Items on sale will be Irn Bru/Red Kola, tablet, fudge, teacakes, snowballs and chew bars, to name but a few items! We will also have a selection of cakes donated by Greggs but are unable to say at this point which day that will be as they are kindly donating these to school at some point next week.
Please note that this is a child led Enterprise activity therefore we would advise you discuss with your child beforehand if they have any allergies which items they would be able to purchase as we are unable to cater for all dietary requirements.
Prices will range from 20p to £1 although we do have a limited number of tablet and fudge boxes at £2 which retail between £2.75 to £3.00 normally.
Thank you for your support in this Enterprise Venture.

Parental Involvement Invite
Thank you to those parents who attended our ‘Understanding anxiety and distressed behaviour’ workshops. Resources to further support parents with this topic will be sent out by email soon.
Galston Parent group will continue on Tuesday 18th February from 2pm- 3pm, led by Mrs Willsden. The topic over the next few weeks will be ‘Sleep and Autism’. The first 3 sessions will involve viewing the pre recorded NEST workshops together, followed by discussion. Please note that many of the stratagies will be useful for all children, not solely those who have Autism.
Please note that parents can also view these workshops at home on the NEST website https://www.nest.scot/videos.
Celine Dyer from NEST will attend the session on Tuesday 11th March from 2pm- 3pm to answer any questions based on the workshop.
All parents are welcome to join. Tea and coffee will be available.
P7 Residential Dalguise
There will be a meeting for parents/carers of P7 pupils attending the residential trip on Monday 17th February at 2:15pm. This will be an opportunity to discuss any queries and collect paperwork for medication and any other questions you may have.
We look forward you seeing you as many of you as possible.
Girl’s Football Team Success
The girls football team played in their first series of games yesterday and we are very proud of them. They were excellent representatives who never stopped trying in all three of the games played. They encouraged each other and even before winning had smiles just because they were playing football together. Well done girls!
Primary 6 Titanic Opportunity
