JRSO Parking Campaign
Over the last two weeks the JRSO group have been issuing parking tickets with the help of PC Rae who joined them to help make the parking around the school better and safer for all. They designed the tickets to remind those who were parking in the wrong areas that first and foremost they were trying to make it the safest it could be. The JRSOs would like to thank the parents for their co-operation in parking safely in the correct place. It makes it better for everyone in our community.
A HUGE Thank you!
A HUGE Thank you to all of the fabulous volunteers who came along and supported the school during World of Work Week this week.
This week has been very full with many many volunteers coming into school and delivering inspirational world of work sessions. Paramedics and Health professionals, Engineers and Games designers, Charities and Lifeboats. The children have had a great time. This would not have been possible without the support of the community and the staff who co-ordinated it all. Thank you.

Sun Safe
As we continue to have hot sunny weather we would like to remind everyone of the sun safe message. We would encourage children to use sunscreen and wear a sunhat and sunglasses, out of doors, whilst at school. We remember it by using Slip, Slop, Slap, Wrap.
- Slip on a shirt
- Slop on sunscreen
- Slap on a hat
- Wrap on sunglasses.
That way we can protect our eyes and skin from damage.
Thank you for your help in keeping our children and young people safe.
Wildfire Risk.
Due to the spring up, plenty of old plant debris and high temperatures there is an increased chance of wildfires starting.
How can you help?
What we can do…
Follow our key tips to prevent wildfires in rural and semi-rural areas.
- Avoid visiting vulnerable areas or those which have recently been subject to fires while the fire risk is high
- If you see a fire in the countryside, however small,
CALL 999 IMMEDIATELY. - Always follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
- Do not discard lit cigarette ends – make sure they
are completely extinguished. - Avoid lighting fires outdoors when high winds,
high temperatures and low humidity are present
or predicted. - Report anyone acting irresponsibly or carelessly
with fire in the countryside. - Talk to your children. Take time to explain the dangers of fire to them. Matches and lighters are tools, not toys.
- If you need to call on an emergency service, they will need to find you quickly. Is your address visible from the main road? Are there clear access points to your property?
- Have an escape plan. Ensure your family members know what to do and where to assemble. If you run a business in a rural area, make sure your staff members know the plan. Also, think about how you will round up and care for pets and domestic animals safely.
- Remember – a wildfire can develop quickly. Don’t take chances.
Thank you for keeping us safe.
