Parental Engagement

Thank you to all of the families who came and joined in with all of the activities showing innovation and creativity on Tuesday.  It was wonderful to see all of the adults participating with their children, the children who were leading being so confident and the adults having fun and a chance to try new things.  Thank you also to those who left feedback it is much appreciated.

Parking

Good afternoon
We have received an email from the Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA) who have asked us to pass on to all parents/carers who are dropping off and picking up children at the School & ECC that the bus bays are for minibuses and taxis only.  This space must be left unoccupied to allow children to safely get in and out of the buses and taxis.
The bus companies have contacted ARA directly to raise their concerns and  therefore requested we put the message out via our usual platforms.
Thank you for your help and cooperation in this matter.

Parental Engagement Evening – Innovation and Creativity

A reminder we are having an open evening in the school on Tuesday 20th January from 6pm to 7pm. We will be showcasing some of the work being done at various stages across the school this session. Our theme is innovation and creativity. This is a drop-in session where you are able to visit the different bases and speak to some of the children about what they have been doing.
From 7pm -7.30pm, we will also have an information session for P7 parent/carers who are going on the residential in March. Information packs will be given out and sent home with children who’s parents/carers are unable to attend.
We look forward to welcoming you all there.

It’s time for our annual Scottish Poetry competition!
All children should now have received a poem home to practise. Class teachers will be going over the poem in classes and will judge the children’s poetry recital based on their knowledge, pronunciation and performance of the poem. For each class, 3 finalists will be chosen by Monday 26th January and these children will go forward to be judged by our guest judges on Friday 30th January when a winner shall be chosen for each class.
Class winners will be invited to perform their poem at assembly on Friday 6th February.

Primary 5 Titanic Survey

Our P5 staff are considering a visit to the Titanic Experience in Belfast on 9th June 2026. The children would leave the school at 8:45am and return at approximately 11:30pm.  The cost of this trip would be between £88-£90 per person.  At this time we are looking for feedback to find out if parents would be interested in their child attending a trip to the Titanic Experience.  Please complete the form by following the link below and submit it to the school no later than Friday 16th January at 3:00pm.
