Be Bright, Be Seen

As winter is setting in and the days are darker in the mornings and afternoons our JRSO committee have turned towards think about the impact this has on our safety.
Safety Sam, By Tia
Today is  Be Bright Be Seen Day. This is something that the Junior Road Safety Officers have been working on in the school.
The JRSO Group have arranged for classes to design posters and are raising awareness around the school and informing children about the importance of wearing bright clothes when they are outside in the darker mornings and evenings. For each poster handed in the children have received a reflector to clip on to their jackets or bags

Eco – Wardrobe

The Eco Wardrobe
The Pupil Council have been working hard to promote the Eco
Wardrobe which they wish to use to help encourage people
to Reuse, Renew and Recycle.
We are currently doing an inventory of our Eco Wardrobe and would like to ask for your help. We have identified a need for winter
clothing e.g. hats/gloves/scarves/warm jumpers and jackets. We are
also looking for Christmas jumpers and any party wear. If you have
any of these items that you would be willing to donate could you send them to school with your child or hand them in to the main office.
Please let us know if there are any particular items you need and we
can use the school app to make an anonymous appeal to our wonderful school community.
The Pupil Council will be setting up the Eco Wardrobe in the area
outside the office most afternoons at 2.45/2.50pm starting in the next week.
We really appreciate your help!

The Exchange Counselling Service

The Exchange is a school counselling service available in all schools within East Ayrshire. To ensure waiting lists are kept manageable we want to ensure that we are the right service for the children and young people who access it. All referrals to the Exchange Primary Service are made by the named person within the Primary school, in most schools this is either a Depute Headteacher or a Headteacher.

If you have concerns about your child’s wellbeing, please speak with their teacher or their named person to discuss what supports are already in place and if they feel any further supports may be required. The leaflets below provide further information, should they require support from the Exchange.
