Issues with Bug Club

Some pupils have reported issues with Bug Club. They are not able to access their allocated books. We are aware of this and are trying to fix the problem, sorry for the inconvenience.
The Reading Corner section of Bug Club is still working, so children can still access books to read, but there won’t be any bugs to answer.

Homework 2nd June

As always, your words are in your jotters. Choose either a grid activity or write sentences for your words.  Remember to write your words out 3 times please.
Here are links to games you can play to help you with your times tables and your number bonds. These are really important for you to learn.
Please remember to log into your Bug Club account. Remember all the books have bugs with their eyes open on some pages, you need to click on them to answer questions about the book, the bugs will then close their eyes and you will earn coins.
Mrs Wright is very keen for everyone to be reading their books. If you are struggling to get onto your account please let us know and we will try to help you.

Homework 26th May

Look, cover, write and check your words 3 times and then choose between the grid or sentences for your activity.
We are looking at measuring at the moment using centimetres, metres and we are going to try using the trundle wheels in the playground.
You have been given a paper ruler home with you. You can use this or if you have your own, have a go at measuring these items you might have in your home –
Write down the item in your jotter and beside it write how long it measures in centimetres –
a toilet roll        a book          a shoe            a small plate           a fork
a spoon            a small teddy           a mobile phone
a toothbrush
Our Sports Day is on Friday 29th May at 9.30am.  The weather has been really hot this week, if it stays really warm for Friday, please remember to wear your suncream and bring a drink.
We look forward to seeing you cheer each other on, show super team work, fair play and being a good sport!

Homework 19th May

As always you can choose to do an activity from the grid or write sentences for your words. Remember to use the strategy LOOK, COVER, WRITE and CHECK when you are writing your words 3 times.

Here are some problem solving activities for you to try.  There are a few spicy challenges so just have and go and try your best!

Use this 100 square to help you

For this activity remember to write out all the calculations you can make.

If you want an even SPICIER challenge, why not take a triangle number AWAY from a square number. Write out the calculations and their answers.

We are going on our trip on Thursday 21st May. If you would like the school to provide a packed lunch for this day, please order on line before 20th May. If you are providing a packed lunch, please make sure your child knows this so they can pass this information onto their teacher. Please make sure your child has a snack and a drink with them.

Can you please ensure that if your child requires any medication that the school has this and it is in date.

The weather looks wet, therefore please make sure that your child has a jacket and appropriate footwear. School uniform should be worn on the top half – school polo shirt and/or jumper and suitable leggings/joggers or trousers. Trainers or shoes with socks please – NO SANDALS.  Should the weather be warm please make sure your child has or has had sun cream applied.

We are not going to visit the gift shop so please do not send your child in with any money.

Lunch can be brought in a carrier bag or a school bag however please note that this is your child’s responsibility to look after.

As with all trips we are looking for your child to demonstrate our school values of community, ambition, respect, equity and safety as we are representing the school.

Homework 12th May

Your words are in your homework jotter. Complete an activity from the grid or write a sentence for each of your words.
We had a special visitor in today. Catherine brought in lots of Viking artifacts for us to explore and play with. She told us lots of interesting information about the lives of Vikings. Tell your grown ups what you did and some interesting facts you learned.
We will share some photos on here soon!
Have a go at this fun and interactive Viking game, just click the link and away you go!
Some of you were asking for the Deadly Doors game again – to go over your turns and directions, click on the link to play
We’ll be moving away from division and multiplication soon, so keep going over your facts. It’s so important you try to remember them. This Topmarks game is really good to help you learn your facts –

Homework 28th April

Continue with the literacy grid for your homework words or simply write your words 3 times and write a sentence for each one. Really focus on handwriting please. Make sure your letters are formed correctly, you might want to try joining a few letters together as that is what we have been doing in handwriting in class.
Fractions, Multiplying and Dividing are still our focus in Maths just now. We will also be looking at shape.
How well do you know your times tables? Ask someone in your family to challenge you – can you answer all the questions correctly?
Here are some games to help you learn your facts –
Don’t forget your Bug Club account. We are really trying hard to improve our fluency in reading, add expression and pause when we see commas or full stops.

Homework 21st April

Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely rest over the holidays.
This is our last term in Primary 3 and it’s going to be a good one!
Choose from the activity grid for your literacy activity or simply write a sentence for each of your words. Remember to LOOK COVER WRITE and CHECK your words 2 times in your jotter.
We are continuing to work on Fractions and dividing, have a go at these games to help you with this. You can choose your challenge to make it spicier or sweeter
Hit the Button use this for multiplying and dividing facts
Multiplying and dividing are linked – if you know your tables you will find this much easier –
                                   3 X 4 = 12              5 X 3 = 15
                                 12 ÷ 4 = 3              15 ÷3  = 5
This term we are researching The Vikings. We are excited about this, there are lots of fun facts to learn.
Have a think about what you know already or what you would like to find out and let us know this week.
Remember to log into your Bug Club account – there are lots of books and games waiting for you to discover!

This is Easter week so we are not giving you any spelling or maths homework. We’re going to make it a bit more fun!
In P3 we love this wee saying –
So, keeping that in mind, we are asking you to try to be kind this week and over the holidays and hopefully always!  Have a look at this Kindness Bingo Card. How many of these kind activities can you do over the next week. Let us know how many of them you manage to score off!
Good luck with your KINDNESS MISSION! We can’t wait to hear all about it!
School closes for the Easter holidays on Thursday at 2.30pm. We hope you have a lovely time whatever you get up to! We’ll see you back here on Monday 20th April.

Homework 24th March

Continue with the grid. We will change this after the Easter holiday. We’re hoping you may have tried a few new activities. Remember you can still always do sentences for your words instead, try to include different starter words for your sentences, words like – Sometimes, When, Usually, – experiment with ones of your own. We always look forward to reading through your work.
We have been looking at Clockwise, Anti-clockwise, quarter turns and half turns in class. Try to direct someone in your family using these directions – for example –
Walk 2 steps forward
Quarter turn clockwise
Walk 2 steps forward
Half turn anticlockwise
Where does it take them? Can you direct them to the kitchen or the bedroom?
Play these games to practise your skills even further –
We are also looking at fractions in class, try this Fruity Fractions Game –
As always keep going with your times tables!
Remember to log into Bug Club, there are a few new Maths games on there for you to try. Choose your challenge by selecting Bronze, Silver or Gold level!

Homework 10th March 2026

Continue with the spelling grid. Try out a couple of new ideas, or stick to your favourites! Remember, if you prefer, you can simply Look, Cover, Write and Check your words and write sentences to go with them. Try to include your targets – capital letters at the start, full stops at the end and interesting sentences starters and describing words.
We are looking at all the times tables we have covered so far, try to go over them all again and again. Did you try your Beat Thats last week? If you did, if someone timed you, see if you can beat your last time – why not challenge your teacher! Ask her how fast she can say the 2x and 3x tables!! Can you beat their time???
To get better with your tables, have a go with these website links –
For this game – choose the Year 2 questions.
Log into Bug Club to have a look in your Reading Corner.
Remember to log into your Nessy account and have a go at some of your activities.
We are making our Scottish Islands in class just now and some of us have been using laptops to research and find out more about the four main Scottish Island groups – Outer Hebrides, Inner Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland. Why not have a go at researching some facts of your own at home or draw some pictures of what you might see on these islands. Bring in your drawings or research and share them with your class.
