2025 – 2026

Here are some problem solving activities for you to try. There are a few spicy challenges so just have and go and try your best!
Use this 100 square to help you

For this activity remember to write out all the calculations you can make.
If you want an even SPICIER challenge, why not take a triangle number AWAY from a square number. Write out the calculations and their answers.

We are going on our trip on Thursday 21st May. If you would like the school to provide a packed lunch for this day, please order on line before 20th May. If you are providing a packed lunch, please make sure your child knows this so they can pass this information onto their teacher. Please make sure your child has a snack and a drink with them.
Can you please ensure that if your child requires any medication that the school has this and it is in date.
The weather looks wet, therefore please make sure that your child has a jacket and appropriate footwear. School uniform should be worn on the top half – school polo shirt and/or jumper and suitable leggings/joggers or trousers. Trainers or shoes with socks please – NO SANDALS. Should the weather be warm please make sure your child has or has had sun cream applied.
We are not going to visit the gift shop so please do not send your child in with any money.
Lunch can be brought in a carrier bag or a school bag however please note that this is your child’s responsibility to look after.
As with all trips we are looking for your child to demonstrate our school values of community, ambition, respect, equity and safety as we are representing the school.

Literacy
Your words are in your homework jotter. We are continuing to use the grid for homework for a few weeks. You can repeat any of the activities you have done before. Or if you like to Look Cover Write and Check and write sentences that is also absolutely fine!
Here is the grid to remind you of your activities should you choose to do them

Maths
We are looking at the 6 times table again this week, can you remember the stations of the 6x table?
For fun you could try to say the 6x table as fast as you can. If someone times you, you can keep your score and try to say it even faster next time. We call this Beat Thats! You are only in competition with yourself – try to beat your last score if you can!
We have also been looking at directions – NORTH, SOUTH, EAST and WEST. We have been pinpointing locations on our island maps. You could chat to your grown ups about this.
Here are a few links for you to play to help you with your numeracy and maths this week –
