Homework 24th March

Continue with the grid. We will change this after the Easter holiday. We’re hoping you may have tried a few new activities. Remember you can still always do sentences for your words instead, try to include different starter words for your sentences, words like – Sometimes, When, Usually, – experiment with ones of your own. We always look forward to reading through your work.
We have been looking at Clockwise, Anti-clockwise, quarter turns and half turns in class. Try to direct someone in your family using these directions – for example –
Walk 2 steps forward
Quarter turn clockwise
Walk 2 steps forward
Half turn anticlockwise
Where does it take them? Can you direct them to the kitchen or the bedroom?
Play these games to practise your skills even further –
We are also looking at fractions in class, try this Fruity Fractions Game –
As always keep going with your times tables!
Remember to log into Bug Club, there are a few new Maths games on there for you to try. Choose your challenge by selecting Bronze, Silver or Gold level!

Homework 10th March 2026

Continue with the spelling grid. Try out a couple of new ideas, or stick to your favourites! Remember, if you prefer, you can simply Look, Cover, Write and Check your words and write sentences to go with them. Try to include your targets – capital letters at the start, full stops at the end and interesting sentences starters and describing words.
We are looking at all the times tables we have covered so far, try to go over them all again and again. Did you try your Beat Thats last week? If you did, if someone timed you, see if you can beat your last time – why not challenge your teacher! Ask her how fast she can say the 2x and 3x tables!! Can you beat their time???
To get better with your tables, have a go with these website links –
For this game – choose the Year 2 questions.
Log into Bug Club to have a look in your Reading Corner.
Remember to log into your Nessy account and have a go at some of your activities.
We are making our Scottish Islands in class just now and some of us have been using laptops to research and find out more about the four main Scottish Island groups – Outer Hebrides, Inner Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland. Why not have a go at researching some facts of your own at home or draw some pictures of what you might see on these islands. Bring in your drawings or research and share them with your class.

Homework 3rd March 2026

Literacy

Your words are in your homework jotter. We are continuing to use the grid for homework for a few weeks. You can repeat any of the activities you have done before. Or if you like to Look Cover Write and Check and write sentences that is also absolutely fine!

Here is the grid to remind you of your activities should you choose to do them

Maths

We are looking at the 6 times table again this week, can you remember the stations of the 6x table?

For fun you could try to say the 6x table as fast as you can. If someone times you, you can keep your score and try to say it even faster next time. We call this Beat Thats! You are only in competition with yourself – try to beat your last score if you can!

We have also been looking at directions – NORTH, SOUTH, EAST and WEST. We have been pinpointing locations on our island maps. You could chat to your grown ups about this.

Here are a few links for you to play to help you with your numeracy and maths this week –

Homework 23.9.25

Welcome back!
We hope all our Primary 3 pupils and their families had a lovely September weekend!
Literacy Update
Our literacy focus is handwriting and sentence writing. This means we are practising letter formation, and making sure sentences start with a capital letter, have spaces between words and end with a full stop.
To give every child the right help, learners may move to different classes across the stage so that everyone is both supported and challenged. These sessions will happen three times each week.
We’re excited to share how much progress your child will make in each of our classes! Mrs Carten, Mrs Cree, Mrs Harvey and Mrs Rogerson.
