We have been learning about Number and Number processes this term.<\/p>\n

So far we have investigated determining the value of a number using each digit’s place value, alongside multiplication practise and problems.<\/p>\n

Today we completed some fun, hands on activities to embed our learning around place value.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We used brain flakes to create structures of different values.\u00a0 Each colour represented a different value and we had to count up what each structure was worth and add the digits to the place value chart.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We also used the base 10 materials to build “Place Value Palaces” and again, had to count up the total value of our structures.\u00a0 We got rather competitive with who could build the biggest value!<\/p>\n

We also had lots of fun playing rounding shuffleboard!\u00a0 We had to choose a number from the noticeboard, then glide he puck across the floor to see if we had to round the number to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 or 10000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
