Term 1 Curricular Overview
Below you will find information on what your child will be learning about in term 1.
PE Days
SLC Class 1 have PE on a Wednesday and Thursday morning.
At this time, trainers or soft gym shoes will be worn. There is no need for shorts to be sent in at this time.
Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is an essential part of our curriculum this year. We take part in outdoor learning daily between 11am and 12pm and we currently have our Outdoor Learning specialists supporting our learning on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. At the Onthank Supported Learning Centre, we also have our 2 hens that we will be helping to take care of across the week.
It would be beneficial for pupils to ensure they bring a waterproof jacket and leak proof shoes to school daily as outdoor learning is a core part of their day. Children will be provided with wellies and waterproof clothes should they require it however, if you would prefer for your child to wear there own these can be kept safe in school for daily use.
Learning Journals
Learning journals will be regularly updated on a weekly basis with stories and observations of your child’s learning. Please ensure you can access via the login emailed to you so you don’t miss out on any updates/ photos of the fun your child has been engaged in.
