School Motto ‘Be the Best’
Vision, Values and Aims
We review our aims yearly but in 2019 we reviewed
our Vision, Values and Aims with pupils, parents
and staff. Our P7s decided that our motto should
become ‘Be the Best’. We also work closely with
our community and Together we aim to ‘Let
Wigtown Flourish’.
Vision
That pupils, staff and parents work actively
together encouraging all children to develop skills
for life, which will enable them to make
responsible choices and achieve their full
potential.

Aims
We aim to provide children with opportunities that
help them to become:
– Successful learners
– Confident Individuals
– Effective Contributors
– Responsible Citizens
Possible vehicles for this include: organisation of
learning, masterclasses, PLPs, house groups, Eco,
Pupil Voice, Fairtrade, STEM, outdoor learning,
enterprise, interdisciplinary learning, UNCRC,
Scotland’s Book Town and Festival week, Reading
Passports, transition activities and community
involvement.
