Paul Riding and our very own Jay (P6) spent the afternoon with us, sharing Paul’s amazing collection of World War 1 antiques. We got to handle actual WW1 objects! There were helmets from the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance, multiple medals, compasses, bullets, postcards, cigarette cases and a lot more. Boys and girls, can you answer these questions? Two points per correct answer. Answer by clicking on the title of this post and writing in the comment box.
A huge thank you to Paul, Jay and Logan for sharing their precious items today.Â

After a few false starts with our Food and Farming trip to Barony farm, we finally met with Fiona from RHET who taught us how flour was made from wheat and how to make butter. It was great fun grinding the wheat grain to make the flour and seeing who had the strongest muscles. We exhausted ourselves shaking the containers to churn the butter but the best part was tasting our homemade butter on a wheat cracker. We may start a small business making and selling butter now that we are so good at it!

Primary 5, 6 and 7 had a great time on Monday afternoon at the Ice Bowl. We went to watch The U20 Ice Hockey Championships; our game was Netherlands V Korea. We supported Korea – and they won!
It was a great match with lots of excitement. The final score was a close 4 – 5 (With Korea winning). After the match Kacey (P7) and Finlay (P6) were asked to present the Korea Man of the Match medal. What a fantastic opportunity.
Well done to all the children! You represented our school fantastically well.

Everyone in the school has been overcome by Christmas fever! We have all become very creative designers, with almost every door in the school decorated.
Mrs Fisher will be judging the Competition, what a tough job she has!
Well done St. Ninian’s – What a fantastic effort!
