Metal Work

March 5, 2018 by Louise Jenna | 0 comments

On the 5th of March we went to Maxwelltown High school. We all made dominos with Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan. Our favourite part was when we got to drill the holes in the domino. We would like to go again because it was amazing and we got to take part in everything. We used a hammer, drill, center punch, hack saw, safety goggles, file, ruler to measure and sand paper. Kacey made double 2 because it was easy and it is her favourite number . Louise made double 2 because 4 is her lucky number and 22 is her favourite number . We would like to thank Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan for giving up their time for us.

Thank you

Metal work at Maxwelltown High School

Today Primary 7 took part at Maxwelltown High School in a class about metal work. The teachers Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan gave a demonstration about how to make a copper domino key-ring. We were all very good at it but my domino key-ring didn’t turn out right because the drill wouldn’t go right through, because my mark wasn’t big enough.

I chose the numbers 6 and 3 because I thought it would look really effective. At the end of the day all of the domino key-rings looked really great. Thank you Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan for taking your time to help us to make the brilliant copper domino key-rings. It was great using the equipment (like a center punch, a hack saw, a drill, sanding paper, and safety goggles).

Metal Works

On the 5th of March 2018 we went to Metal works at Maxwelltown High School. We had a great  time making a domino key chain out of copper.

Katie only had one day to do the whole thing it only took an hour and a half. It was very exciting and we’re looking forward to having metal work in High School.

Science Club Investigations.

In science club we have been investigating fingerprints and how the police use finger prints to help solve crimes. We held normal drinking glasses to create fingerprints on the surface and then gently dusted very fine cocoa powder over them to make the our prints visible. It was amazing what we saw through a magnifying glass. Who knows, we may have some Crime Scene Investigators of the future here at St Ninian’s.

Devil’s Porridge

Yesterday P7 went to museum to learn about WW1. It was very interesting. We all got to hold WW1 weapons and see the coins that were used in the war. I liked doing the quiz it the end because we could explore the museum more. Outside of the museum there was a train. It was called the Sir James and we could go in it. I really liked it and I would go back because it was one of the best trips I have been on .
