Shoebox appeal 2015

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our Shoebox appeal this year.  Your lovely gifts will be very much appreciated by those who receive them.  Special thanks goes to Mrs Denholm who has been busy knitting hats, scarves and mittens all year to donate to this charity.  It is so lovely to see the children of St. Ninian’s sharing what they have with others around the world who have very little.

P2 Trip to Lochhill Farm

Primary 2 had an absolutely fantastic time at Lochhill Farm and our host, Alasdair, was totally brilliant. Big thank you to him and his mum, Margaret, for showing us around their beautiful farm, letting us see the beef bulls getting bedded and fed, taking us on a trailer ride and letting us sit on a tractor and quad-bike. The P2 minions all behaved so well and did the school proud.

P1/2 Trip to Tesco

On Monday 16th November, P1/2 went on a trip to Tesco. This was to learn about food and where it comes from. We were also looking for Scottish produce. We knew something was from Scotland because it has the Scottish flag on it. We also got to taste some different fruit and got to see fish being filleted. Come and see our display board for more photos of our trip.

P7’s blog on the blog

In P7 we are looking forward to being involved in sharing our learning on our new blog! We would like to spread some happiness by sharing with you our learning, and our adventures in P7. You are welcome to explore our blog and hopefully you will comment too! We will also be sharing photographs to help everyone become more involved in our learning.

At Operation Safety, we learned about being safe online, so although some of us are a little anxious, we know that no personal information should be shared and this helps us keep safe while blogging.

Have fun exploring,

Primary 7!

P1 Cinema Trip

peng_cg_penguins_14

We were lucky to get a last minute option to visit our local cinema on Friday. Luckily, there was a break in the rain and wind that morning! The children were absolutely wonderful from start to finish. We got the public bus and walked the rest of the way. Comments were made on how well the children behaved. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of being out and about together. On the way, we looked for numbers and talked about why they are so important. We practised our road safety skills as we crossed several roads. We used our French when thanking the bus driver and cinema staff. It’s amazing what you can learn in your local environment! A huge thank you to Miss Wylie, Mrs Russell and Mrs Dale for coming along.
