Health Week – Road Safety

Health Week got off to a great start with a visit this morning from PC Davis to talk about road safety.

PTDC2204 PTDC2201 PTDC2205

The children were learning how to cross the road safely and where to ride their bikes safely.  They were also learning how important it is to wear a helmet whilst cycling.  PC Davis talked to the children about travelling safely in the car, having the right car seat and wearing a seatbelt.

Girls Football Festival

Primary 5 and 6 girls, recently took part in a Girls Football Festival at Dumfries High School. The girls had a spent time training with parent volunteers in the run up to the festival. A huge thank you goes to these parents; we couldn’t have taken part without your help. The girls had a great time, fantastic sportsmanship was demonstrated and our girls were a great example of our school.

A huge well done girls,

Mrs Storey

Primary 3 Farm Visit

Today Primary 3 were learning where milk comes from at Townhead Farm, Mouswald. They all behaved very well, had a great time and learned lots.  A credit to the school as always.

Prose and Poetry Triumph!

Last weekend nine of our pupils took part in the annual Speech Festival. They all competed in the Prose and Poetry sections. The quality of their performances was outstanding and the results speak for themselves – in each competition a St Ninian’s pupil was placed either 1st, 2nd or 3rd (and in some St Ninian’s took more than one of the top spots). A huge congratulations to all of the children involved.

Erin P7.

The school is very proud of each of your achievements! Well Done!

Despite the terrifying prospect of going first, Bethany showed the crowd what she was made of and was named as one of the top four for her prose.

Katie’s winning smile was commented on by the judges. Her prose and poetry skills also ensured that she was able to wow the audience.

Champions! The children will need to make sure they regularly polish their trophies to ensure they continue to sparkle.

Erin in P7 (photo to come) was also able to show off her fantastic skills. She was named as 3rd place in both of her competitions.

The achievements that the children have been able to achieve is all down to the hard work and dedication they have shown over the last few months. Super work guys! You’ve all made St Ninian’s proud!

Parental Survey

Recently parents received a letter inviting them to take part in an online survey, measuring Parental satisfaction. This survey replaces the paper version, which is usually sent out to parents/carers.

Your views are very important to us. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. The link is below.

Nursery pupils arrived today in their pyjamas and had a great time reading stories with Primary 6.  The boys and girls listened really well and joined in with their favourite stories.  Primary 6 pupils enjoyed their time in Nursery and some were talking about their favourite times as a Nursery pupil.  It’s clear to see that P6 will make great buddies.
