We have been learning about the scottish inventor John Logie Baird who invented the television. We shared our learning with P1 and P2.

Yesterday we went to Max High and done some metalwork and we made dominoes. We made the dominoes out of copper and we had to get a hack saw to cut a line through the middle of the metal then we made little holes in it so we knew were to drill. We got a file then we drilled some holes in the metal then we sanded it down so the metal was nice and smooth and clean then we put a key ring in it.

Yesterday P7 went to Maxwelltown High School to do some metal work. We made a metal key ring which was a domino. We put a 5 and 5 on the key ring. We were put in to two different groups the teachers were called Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan. We had to use a lot of equipment and tools, we were using a drill, sandpaper, wet and dry sandpaper, a hammer and a file. We did it for three sessions and it was great fun all of the class enjoyed it.

Yesterday p7 went to Max High to do metal work. We all made a domino key ring. We had to go on big machines to put our numbers on the key ring . Our teachers were called Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan. There were two different groups, we both were in Mr Drummonds class it was really fun and we were supervised at the machine the whole time. We were there from nine o’clock until five to eleven it was really fun!

Today p7 went Maxwelltown High School and finished the copper keychains. When we started we had a plain piece of copper but a few hours and the markings were done. Now we drilled a hole to put the ring on.
Thank you Mr Drummond for help.

On the 5th of March Primary 7 took the opportunity to go to Maxwelltown high school to work with two lovely teachers called Mr Drummond and Mr Peagan. They helped us make some lovely domino key-rings I picked the numbers 5 and 3 I have no reason why I just wanted to make the number 8.
I just want to say a big massive THANK YOU to Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan for helping us and taking time out of their own personal time to make them with us.

Today P7 went to Maxwelltown high school to create a domino using metal works . The teachers were named Mr Drummond & Mr Pagan. On the first week we started using copper instead of brass . We had to saw a line going from one end to the other . Then we started to place in the dots for our numbers. My numbers were 5 & 5 they are my lucky number. When we were finished putting in the holes we had to drill them in the cooper. After that we had to use sandpaper to sand of the extra coper and then we used wet or dry sandpaper. When we had finished we had to put a key ring in and then we had to use this soap to clean our hands . It felt like tarmac and smelt like oranges . Then we left to go back to school . I’m pretty sure that we all had a blast .
WE WOULD LIKE TO SAY A MAsSIVE THANK YOU TO MR DRUMMOND AND MR PAGAN FOR TAKING THEIR TIME TO TEACH US … here is a picture…

My class and I went next door to Maxwelltown High school to do metal works with Mr Drummond and Mr Pagan. We made a domino key-ring with copper.
My one never turned out as good as other peoples because the dots are squint, as the drill went crazy, but that’s okay because it is really shiny and clean. I had loads of fun whilst making this because we got to use lots of equipment, for example, we used a center punch, a hacksaw, a drill and sanding paper.
Now I’m really excited to use the equipment at Dumfries Academy in high school. I chose the numbers five and five because I thought it would look really cool. I’m happy that we got the opportunity to do this and I’m happy with how all the domino key-rings turned out.
