Diegan’s birthday was yesterday. We decorated the cabin with banners and sang happy birthday, before surprising her with a birthday cake in the evening.
Happy birthday Diegan! 🎂 🎊 🎉

Primary 3 took part in Healthy Day on Friday 6th May.
We were talking about Oral Health; good teeth and bad teeth.
We took part in Let’s Get Sporty with Dayne.
We even tasted some fruit with Anne from Tesco.
The whole class had great fun on the PTA Bouncy Obstacle Course.
All in all the Healthy Day was great fun!

P7 have had an excellent first day!
We’ve been sailing and kayaking, jumping into the freezing loch and generally having a blast!
Photos will follow as soon as the signal improves.

We had a visit from Fiona Jamieson from RHET last Monday. She talked to us about different types of farming and what we might find on a farm. This was to help prepare us for our Farm visit which took place today. She let us have a go of making our own butter from cream, a little water and a LOT of shaking.
Today, we made our way to Crochmore farm to experience a dairy farm for ourselves. After a little ‘adventure’ on the way, we finally arrived and met the farmer, Angus, and his dad Douglas.
We got to meet lots of cows, watch them being milked and learned what they ate.
We then looked at the crops that are grown on the farm and learned how they are cared for.
Finally, we got to meet some newborn calves.
We were very lucky to be able to feed them milk from a bottle and some solid food.
We also got to see a couple of calves getting their ear tags put on. Luckily they didn’t cry.
Watch Dylan feeding this calf!
We had a wonderful morning and learned loads! We wanted to stay all day!
Thank you so very much to Fiona and Angus for allowing us to visit.

Well done to everyone who scooted or cycled to school over the last 2 weeks to support our Big Pedal initiative. Also, a very special well done to all those who wore a helmet to keep yourselves really safe from injury. All of your journeys were registered on the big pedal website and our total over the 2 weeks was 408! We were placed 83rd in Scotland. Big pat on the back to everyone who supported the school!

Many thanks to the Parents/Carers who have already completed the Parental Satisfaction Survey. Your feedback is appreciated and helps to inform future School Improvements and Developments.
For those who have not yet had the opportunity to complete the survey the link is here:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KQMLMBW
Either click on the link, or copy and paste it into the browser; it will open a Survey Monkey page, where you will be asked to select your child(ren)’s school. The link will close mid-May 2016.
Paper copies are available in the school office.
Many thanks for your support with this. Your opinion is valued.
