Glentrool and Popeye’s Parks
Things are now progressing with the development of Glentrool and Popeye’s Parks in Lochside and Lincluden. The development of Popeye’s Park will be led by Lincluden Community Centre with the support of the Parks Steering Group which meets monthly at Lincluden Community Centre. We are currently working with Lincluden Community Centre to help them put together their application to the Big Lottery. The development of Glentrool Park will be led by the YMCA with the support of the “Friends of Glentrool Park” steering group who meet regularly at Lochside Community Centre. The YMCA are also in the process of putting together their application to the Big Lottery. Any local community groups or members of the community who have an interest in seeing these two parks developed and would like to be part of these groups please email us HERE or call Judith McVinnie on 07469 392404 or Amanda Hannah on 07943 745941.
Brighter Futures – Lincluden Community Centre
Over the last few months Our Place staff had been helping Lincluden Community Centre complete a Big Lottery application to develop the Centre. In the last couple of weeks the Community Centre received the exciting news that their application to the Big Lottery for £127K to update the Centre had been successful. This will mean that three community rooms can now be transformed and toilets and windows can be replaced offering better services and facilities for groups using the Centre.
