IDL- Prehistoric ages

In P7 this term we have been learning about prehistoric ages. So in the first part of the prehistoric ages we learned about the Stone Age and how they lived because they had to make there weapons, houses, beds, houses and clothes there selfs. In the middle of term we learned about the Bronze Age and they live just about the same as people in the Stone age but they were a lot more used to doing things there self and they made traps to kill more animals sadly and they started making more and better weapons than they would have in the Stone Age. At the nearly end of term we are learning about the Iron Age and they were a lot different compared to the people in Stone and Bronze Age they were actually farmers in the Iron Age. Although they didn’t stay together they all shared the same plot of land for the farm and they got the strongest animals to do the important part of farming. We are going to be learning a lot more about Iron Age towards the end of term and finding out a lot more as well.

A Primary 6 Victorian Morning (part 2)

On our Victorian morning we did lots of different activities.

We had to test out our times table knowledge with an arithmetic challenge. We also had to read as a class from the novel Jane Eyre. Everyone took it in turns to read aloud. An exciting part of the day was our introduction to Woodwork. We all got a chance to saw some wood using hacksaws and we all managed to survive without chopping any fingers off!

Along with our two Victorian teachers, we also had an assistant teacher. Amy was very scary when she had to bring in the lines and she kept the teachers right all morning!

Some of the naughty children received a detention and they had to write lines 100 times! They even received the dunce’s cap!

A Primary 6 Victorian Morning (part1)

On Tuesday the 28th of March Primary 6 experienced a morning in a Victorian School. This was an amazing for us to end our Victorian topic. We have learned so much from learning about Victorians and we now know how it felt to be a Victorian Child.

We had lots of fun on Tuesday but it was really hard to not laugh when Miss Evans and Mr Carr were being angry teachers!

We had to write on slates with chalk and we made a tasty (kind of) Victorian lunch called Gruel! Some of the naughty children were even made to wear the dunce cap!

Comic Relief 2017!

On Friday 24th March, we at St. Ninian’s had an amazing fun-filled day to raise money for Comic Relief. And raise money we did, chalking up a whopping £447.91. That’s a lot of money for a really worthy cause. The Charity group would like to thank everyone who helped organise the event, the Primary 5 class (who were a massive help on the day!), Mrs. Brown, Sheena, Mrs. Dale, Miss McGregor, all the teachers for bringing their classes along for the activities and finally, all the pupils and parents who donated money. As you can see from these photos ‘fun’ was the order of the day!
