The Guid Nychburris Principals visited St Ninian’s this morning. Our very own McKenzie is looking fabulous! The children cheered everyone on as they raced with their (hobby) horses! The cornet then presented Sophie, Danny and Maegan with prizes for their Guid Nychburris Handwriting Competition winning entries. Four of our P1s presented the Principals with gifts. Karen Wylie from the PTA presented McKenzie with a beautiful love heart necklace. Fingers crossed it’ll be dry on Saturday!
As an end of year treat, tonight P7 had the whole of the Robert Burns Cinema to themselves. We had pizza delivered and munched our way through it while watching Pitch Perfect 2 (thanks Derry). It was a great wee night. Thanks to Mrs Storey, Mr Carr, Miss McKinnell and Dylan’s mum, Mrs Russell, for coming along.
On Friday 9th June, St. Ninian’s held a Health Day led by Mrs Graham and Mrs Love. We had a great time at the House quiz and making smoothies. However, the highlight of the day was the Staff vs Pupil netball tournament. Pupils have been putting in the hours training (the staff less so!!) in preparation. The staff took an early lead with 3 – 0. Many more points were scored and it looked like the staff would be the runaway winners. The noise from the cheering crowd was deafening. However, at the end, Mrs Graham revealed that the Staff had been CHEATING!!!!! Therefore, the Pupil team were the winners. It was later added that the only reason the staff had cheated was due to Mrs Graham telling them to!! The drama!!!
Everyone had a brilliant time watching the game and laughing at the hilarious costumes worn by some of the staff. Here are some photos for you to enjoy looking through as a reminder of the day.

The children in our Nursery have been having a wonderful time playing on their new bridge. Bella’s mummy successfully applied for funding from Our Place, Lochside and Lincluden. Thank you to everyone for their help. It has been well worth it!
Today P4 were experimenting with sounds and vibrations to create their own homemade instruments. We learned how to change the volume and pitch of our instruments.
Primary 4 – Write a comment to tell everyone what YOU learned and what YOU enjoyed the most about this activity.
Our teams did us proud at the netball festival tonight. Team A came third in the league. Team B came third in the Development Festival. Outstanding effort and behaviour girls. Well done! Thanks to Andrea and the Active Schools crew for arranging it all.
Primary Three had a fantastic time at Cream O’ Galloway today! We took part in a senses scavenger hunt and made collages with the items we found in the sensory garden. We had great fun playing in the adventure playground afterwards, especially the boing nets! The sun shone all day and we even got an ice cream at the end. Well done Primary Three!
Today, Tuesday 23rd May, Linda from Diabetes UK came to talk to the class about what Diabetes is and how it can affect people. We handed over a donation of £15 which was raised by some of the staff by not sending each other Christmas cards but donating the money instead. Amy and Sophie Jardine had the idea of raising money for the charity so here they are handing over the money on behalf of the school.
The money will go towards research and supporting families of those who have diabetes.
