CAMHS SUPPORT

We have received an email with information about at Facebook page from Child and Adult Mental Health Services  (CAMHS). If you feel you/your child would benefit from CAMHS input, the Facebook page is another way of accessing information, guidance and support.
NHS Dumfries & Galloway CAMHS & ISSU18 have recently launched our own facebook page to share resources and information on a range of mental health subjects for young people, parents/carers and professionals.
We would greatly appreciate if you could like and share our page through your school facebook page and with your students so as many people as possible can access these great resources – you can find it at www.facebook.com/DGCAMHS

We will also post opportunities for young people to share their views of our service and shape how we develop it. If you have any queries you can contact Michelle Cravens, Participation Worker on michelle.cravens@nhs.net or 01387 244662.

Many thanks,
Michelle

P6 Go Treasure Hunting!

Today was a busy day for Primary 6. We took part in a fascinating Treasure Hunt around Dumfries town centre – visiting lots of local landmarks and finding out some interesting facts about our town’s history. We were rewarded with some tasty treasure at the end of the hunt. We walked for nearly five miles before enjoying a picnic lunch at the Dock Park. Take a look at some of the pictures from today!

On Wednesday 14th of June, P7 took part in The Body Coach’s livestream event tailored specifically for primary schools. This event was streamed on YouTube and it was estimated that over 100,000 children (even from as far away as a school in Dubai) took part in the 30 minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout! The class did extremely well and there were a few red faces by the end!

The idea behind this event is to promote the message that you don’t need fancy (or any) equipment to have fun with exercise and that it can be done anywhere.

This event is now available on The Body Coach’s YouTube page as a regular video so anyone can try this at home!

Well Done P7,

Mr Robison.
