P4 descend on Tesco!

28 pupils from Primary 4 went on a visit to Tesco.  We were very excited, especially when the bus arrived.  When we were there, we learned all about the different milks and cheeses which Tesco sold.  We loved tasting some of the cheeses but the Wensleydale with cranberries was not so popular.

Next, we looked at sugars, where sugar comes from and how much sugar could be found in our favourite cereals.  Some are definitely treats only!

Finally we finished by making a fruit and vegetable face which we got to design ourselves.  We had a competition and the winning plate was…  Josie’s.

The best bit was eating them!

P7 Supreme Soup Making

Oops Amy messed the onions up!!!

Today P7 were making vegetable lentil soup. The onions filled small eyes with big tears. Lots of chomping from the carrots and potatoes.

To end the perfect day we got to write a recipe and to have a lovely early lunch.

Ajay hated the smell of the onions!!

This is our delicious soup!!

P2/3 meet baby Georgia for the first time

P2/3 are taking part in a project called “Roots of Empathy.” We will watch and learn about the development of a baby and find out about her needs. We will also explore our feelings and express our emotions.

This is baby Georgia’s first visit to the class. She was given some toys to play with and every time she visits we will see what she can do with them. We all loved meeting Georgia and her mum.

Buddy Time

Recently, Primary 1 and Primary 7 met up as part of our buddy activities. The Primary 7 children had planned a session with their buddies using Story Sacks that we have in school. They had to ensure that they were prepared and knew what the story was about. The Primary 7 children then led an activity based on the story.

Fire Safety Talk

Fire Officer Louise Smith came to visit us in Nursery today.  We learned lots about her job and got to see her safety kit.  We were really lucky and got to dress up as fire officers.  Some of us thought we would like to do Louise’s job when we are older.  We discovered that fire officers have to do lots more than put out fires.  We learned that they help when the weather is bad and people get flooded.  We also listened to Louise telling us about how she helps out at some road accidents.

Louise taught us what to do if our clothes catch fire.  Stop, drop and roll.  Please ask your children about this.  She also gave all the children some homework to do for Monday.  They have been asked to find out where the smoke alarm is in their house and ask parents to check they are working.
