The Nursery children had a beautiful day to visit RSPB Mersehead last week.
They listened to the story of the Barnacle Geese and the children found out that Barnacle Geese lay their eggs on really high cliffs. When they are old enough the chicks have to jump off the cliff to join their parents.
Have a look at this video to see how far they fall.
Their parents then take them on a very long journey. They have to fly a very long way to our area to find food.
The children enjoyed looking for Barnacle Geese and playing games. They were able to share lots of information when we returned to Nursery too. Have a look in our Big Books to see all that we learned.
