Their aim is to make watersports accessible, enjoyable and confidence-building for young people and the wider community.

Due to the strong offshore winds today, the usual water activities were not able to go ahead as planned. However, the brilliant instructors quickly adapted the day and organised a range of fun land and sea-based games instead – and the pupils still had an amazing time!

The first challenge of the day was getting into wetsuits, which was an experience in itself! After that, pupils were split into groups and took part in lots of games and activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and water awareness.

Despite the rain, spirits stayed high. Pupils worked together, laughed lots, learned new skills and enjoyed spending time with our partnership school. After a busy morning, everyone stopped for lunch before heading back out for even more games and fun.

It was a brilliant day of outdoor learning, resilience and teamwork, and we are so proud of how well all the children joined in, supported one another and made the most of the experience.

A huge thank you to all of the Stranraer Water Sports Association instructors, staff and helpers who made the day so enjoyable and safe for everyone.
