Today, Rebecca and Lino brought in five butterflies that they had cared for at home over the past three weeks. The class learned that the butterflies had started their journey as caterpillars before forming cocoons and eventually emerging as beautiful butterflies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The children were fascinated by the butterflies and spent time carefully observing them. We discussed the symmetrical patterns on their wings and explored the different shapes and colours we could see. The class showed great curiosity and used their observation skills to describe what made each butterfly unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the butterflies were ready, we took them outside to the wildflower area in our playground. One by one, the children watched excitedly as each butterfly spread its wings and flew away into its new habitat. Everyone cheered as they fluttered off into the sunshine! We were even lucky enough to observe one butterfly feeding from the flowers nearby before continuing its journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This wonderful experience helped us learn about life cycles, habitats and the importance of caring for living things while appreciating the beauty of nature around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
