They explored how plants, animals, insects and fungi all play a role in keeping environments healthy and balanced.

After this, the learning moved outdoors as pupils took part in a walk around our school grounds to explore our very own local environment. It was wonderful to see how curious and observant everyone was as they searched for different examples of life around them. 🌱

Pupils looked closely for plants, flowers and fungi, identifying what they could and discussing what they noticed. One of the highlights of the day was using magnifying tubs to gently catch and observe insects. Pupils handled this carefully and respectfully, taking time to study the tiny creatures before returning them safely to their habitats. 🐞🔍

The workshop was a fantastic opportunity to bring learning to life, helping pupils see that biodiversity isn’t just something far away – it exists right here in our own school grounds.

A huge thank you to the Creighton Carbon Centre for delivering such an informative and enjoyable session.
