This week our whole school took part in an incredibly important learning experience – CPR training led by Roger and Lesley Hill from the DH9 Foundation, which they set up in honour of their son to raise awareness of Young Sudden Cardiac Death (YSCD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our younger pupils (P1\u20134) took part first, followed by our older pupils (P5\u20137), and everyone showed fantastic focus and enthusiasm throughout. \ud83d\udcaa<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The children learned what CPR is, when and why it should be done, and how to stay calm and act quickly in an emergency. They were introduced to DRSABC – the steps to follow if someone needs help – and had the chance to practise CPR techniques themselves using training dummies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was an inspiring and empowering session, and the children came away with new knowledge and confidence that could one day help save a life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A huge thank you to Roger and Lesley for giving their time to share such an important message with our pupils and helping them learn these vital life skills. \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
