They confidently shared their ideas with the whole school \u2013 well done to both speakers! \ud83d\udc4f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The girls have organised outdoor maths activities for everyone to enjoy, including making a rain gauge and a wind sock. These will help us track weather data throughout the week \u2013 linking perfectly with our RSPB Wild Challenge and our Social Studies topic of Mapping and Weather. There\u2019ll be plenty of chart-making and hands-on learning outdoors. These activities will be led by our STEM Leaders: Danielle, Nanci-Rose and Ava G. The children are already excited! \ud83c\udf26\ufe0f\ud83d\udcca Take a read of the STEM Leaders meeting minutes to see what&#8217;s going to be on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ava G and Nanci-Rose also launched the Maths Week Scotland competition, where pupils will write a maths story featuring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a shape<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the Maths Week Scotland character Finn-Finity \ud83d\udc1f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our second part of the assembly focused on Rights Respecting Schools. September\u2019s Right of the Month is Article 26 \u2013 the right to social and economic help. In mixed-age groups, pupils discussed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>why this right is important<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how we can promote rights even more in our school<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and how we can continue our journey towards the Gold Award \u2b50<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a fantastic assembly combining leadership, outdoor learning, and pupil voice. We can\u2019t wait for Maths Week to begin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UNCRC Articles<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Article 26 \u2013 The right to social and economic help<\/strong><br>This was our Right of the Month. Pupils explored why it matters and how it links to support at school and at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Article 12 \u2013 Respect for children\u2019s views<\/strong><br>Our Blether Station-style discussions and pupil leadership show that children\u2019s voices help shape school life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SHANARRI Indicator<\/strong>s:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Included<\/strong> \u2013 Everyone takes part in the Maths Week activities and Rights discussions, making sure no one is left out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Active<\/strong> \u2013 Outdoor maths activities and weather tracking keep pupils active and learning outside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Responsible<\/strong> \u2013 STEM Leaders plan and deliver activities for the whole school, showing responsibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sustainable Development Goals inequality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SDG 13 \u2013 Climate Action<\/strong><br>Tracking weather with a rain gauge and weather sock links to understanding climate and our environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Relevant Meta-skills<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Communicating<\/strong> \u2013 Ava G and Nanci-Rose spoke clearly and confidently to the whole school, sharing their plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Collaborating<\/strong> \u2013 Pupils worked together in groups during the Rights discussions and will do so during Maths Week activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Leading<\/strong> \u2013 Our STEM Leaders took responsibility for planning and presenting, showing real leadership skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Curiosity<\/strong> \u2013 Children are encouraged to explore weather, maths, and fairness questions through outdoor learning and competition entries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sense Making<\/strong> \u2013 Pupils will collect and analyse data (rain gauge, wind sock, charts) to spot patterns and understand changes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adapting<\/strong> \u2013 Children are taking on new ideas and challenges, linking Maths Week, outdoor learning and RRS themes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Relevant Strands of Faith<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reign of God<\/strong> \u2013 Showing how we live out fairness, inclusion and care for others in our school community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Signs of God<\/strong> \u2013 Pupils leading and sharing their gifts (STEM leadership) reflects using talents to help
