{"id":5415,"date":"2025-06-15T12:58:34","date_gmt":"2025-06-15T11:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/stjosephsprimary\/?p=5415"},"modified":"2025-06-16T08:59:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T07:59:17","slug":"p6-7-watersports-morning-at-loch-ryan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/stjosephsprimary\/?p=5415","title":{"rendered":"P6\u20137 Watersports Morning at Loch Ryan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Our Primary 6 and 7 pupils had an unforgettable morning out on Loch Ryan, joining Portpatrick Primary\u2019s P7 class for an exciting watersports session with Stranraer Water Sports Association (SWSA). \ud83c\udf0a\ud83d\udef6\u26f5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though the skies were grey and the rain came and went, that didn\u2019t dampen anyone\u2019s spirits. The pupils took part in two brilliant activities and gave both their all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We continue to provide wider achievement experiences for our children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udef6 Kayaking Fun<\/strong><br>In pairs, the children set off in double kayaks and played a fun tennis ball game while paddling. They had to pass the ball across the water without dropping it, all while keeping their balance. There were loads of laughs, great teamwork and fantastic coordination. Everyone took part and had an absolute blast!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u26f5 Sailing Adventure<\/strong><br>Each group also had a go at sailing small single-sail boats. They helped launch the boats into the loch before heading out across the water with an instructor. Some glided smoothly while others had a more exciting ride! Myra, Thorin and Ross\u2019s boat capsized, but they handled it brilliantly. A special shout-out to Thorin for staying so calm and focused the whole time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afterwards, the whole group had the chance to splash about and play in the sea together. Rain or not, the smiles said it all, it was a morning filled with energy, fun and adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A huge thank you to the amazing instructors at SWSA for looking after us so well and giving the children such a great experience. \ud83d\ude4c And an extra big thank you to Mrs T.
