{"id":5065,"date":"2025-04-19T11:50:49","date_gmt":"2025-04-19T10:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/stjosephsprimary\/?p=5065"},"modified":"2025-04-27T10:41:19","modified_gmt":"2025-04-27T09:41:19","slug":"st-josephs-achieves-eco-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/stjosephsprimary\/?p=5065","title":{"rendered":"St. Joseph&#8217;s Achieves Eco Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are delighted to announce that St. Joseph&#8217;s R.C. has been awarded it&#8217;s first Eco Schools flag in recognition of our great environmental work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eco-Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world with 19.5 million children, young people and educators engaged worldwide in 74 different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Completing a Green Flag Application is recognised by the Green Flag Award which is a visible indication of a school&#8217;s commitment to Learning for Sustainability and is an internationally recognised accreditation for excellence in sustainable education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has been a team effort in collaboration with our families, Parent Council, staff and local partners with Miss Scott taking the lead for the Eco Committee. The children have taken the lead in driving forward our action plan since January 2024 for the key target areas of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Litter and Waste &#8211; Improving our School Grounds &#8211;
