This afternoon, the whole school took part in the RSPB Big Schools’ Birdwatch<\/strong>, heading out into our wonderful playground to spot and count as many different bird species as we could. \ud83c\udf3f\ud83d\udc40 We were amazed at how many we found!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The birds we recorded will now be submitted to the RSPB<\/strong> and added to a nationwide survey, helping scientists understand more about bird populations across the UK. Our observations will join those from schools all over the country, giving a clearer picture of how different species are doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only does this contribute to important research, but it also helps us work towards our RSPB Wild Challenge<\/strong>! \ud83c\udfc6\ud83c\udf0d The Wild Challenge<\/strong> is an exciting award scheme where schools take part in nature-based activities to earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards. By birdwatching today, we\u2019ve ticked off another challenge and taken a big step closer to our next award!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A huge well done to all our keen birdwatchers! \ud83d\udc26\ud83d\udd0d We loved getting outside, exploring our natural environment, and spotting so many different species. Let\u2019s keep our eyes open and see what other wildlife we can find in our school grounds!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
