The theme of the assembly was <strong>&#8220;Saving Energy \u2013 Saving the Planet,&#8221;<\/strong> and it was packed with valuable lessons, engaging discussions, and group activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The children learned about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What energy is and how it powers our world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The differences between <strong>renewable<\/strong> and <strong>non-renewable energy sources<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why we need to move away from fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How <strong>solar, wind, and hydroelectric power<\/strong> are better for the environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The importance of reducing our energy consumption to combat <strong>climate change<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How small changes in daily habits can have a big impact, such as turning off lights, unplugging devices, and using energy-efficient appliances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After the presentation, the children got into their <strong>group discussion circles<\/strong> to brainstorm practical ways they could save energy at home. Some of their brilliant ideas included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switching off lights when leaving a room.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turning down the thermostat and wearing a cosy jumper instead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using a reusable water bottle instead of one-time-use plastics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shortening shower times to save hot water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walking or cycling instead of using the car for short journeys.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encouraging their families to recycle and compost.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It was wonderful to see the children collaborating so enthusiastically and sharing ideas with each other. The assembly ended with a pledge: <strong>\u201cWe will do our part to save energy and protect our planet for the future!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>UNCRC issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Goal 7:<\/strong> Affordable and Clean Energy \u2013 Understanding and promoting the use of sustainable energy sources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Goal 11:<\/strong> Sustainable Cities and Communities \u2013 Encouraging actions to create energy-efficient
