Today P5-7 embarked on an electrifying journey into the future with an interactive workshop hosted by the Glasgow Science Centre’s Learning Lab.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The morning ignited with a focus on “Powering the Future.” Students delved into the science behind transitioning from unsustainable fuel sources to cleaner alternatives. Through a series of engaging experiments, the class actively participated in the exploration. Highlights included simulating a nuclear reaction, racing solar cars powered by battery-operated torches, and\u2014a firm favourite\u2014winding a crankshaft to separate hydrogen molecules and witness an explosive launch worthy of a real rocket!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The afternoon session transformed into a collaborative playground of innovation. Working in small groups, students tackled a series of interactive challenges: virtually drilling for oil, constructing the most effective wind turbine, and engaging in a spirited competition to see who could generate the most energy for a battery by cranking a shaft for both speed and power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire P5-7 cohort left the workshop buzzing with excitement and newfound knowledge about sustainable energy. It was a learning experience that was undeniably\u2014and most importantly\u2014fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
