Q<\/strong>. I am a Primary School, and at the moment I fill in a word document and send this to graphics to update the sections related to my school; how will this change?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. Instead of sending the updated information in, you would simply update the relevant webpage on your school handbook website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q<\/strong>. If our parent council chair changes during the school year, will I now be able to update my handbook myself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. Yes, you can update any changes to parent council or school staff throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Q<\/strong>. I want to change an image in our school handbook as the pupil has now left; how easy is this to do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. Within your school handbook website, click on the image you want to change, hit replace and upload the new image. Full instructions will be provided on the guidance documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q<\/strong>. I had great input previously from the schools\u2019 digital team to create a school blog but I have forgotten what to do; will help be available?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. Yes, full instructions on how to create and edit content, including images will be provided to schools, and additional 1-2-1 support will be available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q<\/strong>. I already have a school website, why do I need this too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. You are required to have a school handbook that is accessible in either print or electronic format for your parents. Currently your school handbook is saved as a pdf on the Council website. This can easily become outdated, or information no longer correct, by creating your school handbook website we can post your link on the Council website ensuring that at whatever point throughout the academic year the information is correct.  This provides schools with full editorial control at all times, without needing to go through graphics or the web team etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q<\/strong>. Can my school handbook website be personalised with my school colours and badge?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. Yes, this can be arranged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q<\/strong>. Will the school handbook website be easy for parents and carers to use?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. Yes, the website will have clear navigation as well as accessibility settings that can be applied by the user to meet their needs. Additionally, the website is created in a way that it is responsive to the device it is being viewed on, this means those viewing on a mobile phone screen will get an equally good experience as those viewing on a larger screen such as a laptop or tablet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q<\/strong>. Our school community includes many parents and carers for whom English is not their first language, will the school handbook website be accessible by them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A<\/strong>. Yes, your school handbook website includes a translate feature which can translate the whole site at the touch of a button. The only items that do not translate are images containing text. Good practice when developing websites is to limit these types of items, or provide the text contained within an image underneath the image to ensure all content is accessible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
