A Local Authority Schools Handbook website will be introduced December 2025.

Primary and Secondary settings will be offered their own school handbook website to meet the statutory deadline of December 2026.

The website will be created by the ICT Development Officer, and training offered to the staff who will be populating the pages with content specific to their school.

An instruction manual, and the opportunity for 1-2-1 support will be available to staff.

Impact:

At least one member of staff in each school (or partnership) setting to be identified with the responsibility of updating school handbooks.

Full training and support will be provided.

Benefit:

Upskilling existing staff, which can be applied to other communication materials supporting accessibility and inclusion to those families where English is not the first language, or additional support needs exists.
