If your child is being bullied it is important to inform the school as soon as possible. Unfortunately, bullying alone cannot be recorded as an authorised reason for absence, so meeting with the school to make a plan, and keeping them informed, is important.
Staff at all Dumfries and Galloway schools are trained to deal effectively with bullying. Please ensure that you contact your child’s school immediately if you suspect that they are the victim of bullying or they have disclosed to you that they are being bullied at school. Bullying is most effectively dealt with by early intervention.
