{"id":12,"date":"2024-01-21T13:00:36","date_gmt":"2024-01-21T13:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/sanquharps\/?page_id=12"},"modified":"2026-09-17T07:56:38","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T06:56:38","slug":"history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/sanquharps\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sanquhar Primary School was opened in 1981 (With an extension finished in 2003), to serve the community of Sanquhar and lies in the Upper Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway.\u00a0 The school caters for stages Nursery to Primary 7 i.e. ages 2-12.\u00a0 It is a non-denominational school with a roll of\u00a0 approximately 207. We also have the Sanquhar Learning Centre for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>The school building is a single storey.\u00a0 It has 7 classes as well as 2 rooms to support our Learning Centre, as well as a large space for the Early Learning and Childcare children and staff.\u00a0 \u00a0There are also a number of \u2018quiet\u2019 rooms for Nurture, Music instruction, Learning Support, Meetings etc.<\/p>\n<p>Externally there are extensive areas of grass and areas of hard surface close to the school.\u00a0 There is a closed off play space for the ELC and Learning Centre children beside their indoor spaces.\u00a0 We have a garden area and an outside classroom.\u00a0 There is a car park, which serves the needs of staff and visitors to the school.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sanquhar Primary School was opened in 1981 (With an extension finished in 2003), to serve the community of Sanquhar and lies in the Upper Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway.\u00a0 The school caters for stages Nursery to Primary 7 i.e. ages 2-12.\u00a0 It is a non-denominational school with a roll of\u00a0 approximately 207.
