Our S3 Physics class recently visited the Camera Obscura and World of Illusions in Edinburgh.
Well done to our team of S3 and S4 girls who represented Sanquhar Academy at the Regional Enterprising Maths Challenge competition at Douglas Ewart High School last Thursday. The girls were a credit to the school and won the Engineering Round with the best bridge. A good time was had by all.

On Friday 30th September 2022, Sanquhar Academy is holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning. This means it will be a non-uniform day with a recommended donation of £1.
There will also be baking for sale, ‘Guess the Sweets in the Jar’ (30p a guess), and ‘Soak a Teacher’ (£1 for 4 throws or 50p for 2 throws).

On the 11th of October from 8-9am, we are hosting our Business Breakfast. For the fist time since lockdown our local business partners are invited to join us. Employers will hear from our young people about how we can work together to help prepare them to be your employees of the future . On Monday 19th September the school will be closed due to a bank holiday being announced for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral.
Sanquhar Academy will be closed on Monday the 19th of September to allow members of the school community to pay their respects to our Queen. Our school captains laid flowers at the Sanquhar war memorial this week in remembrance of the Queen’s 70 years service.

Times across the week can vary however required shifts are, early shift is 6:00 – 08:30 am and the back shift is 3:00-7:00 pm.
