{"id":4243,"date":"2019-03-07T14:20:23","date_gmt":"2019-03-07T14:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/portpatrickprimary\/?p=4243"},"modified":"2019-03-07T16:22:38","modified_gmt":"2019-03-07T16:22:38","slug":"wwii-rationing-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/portpatrickprimary\/?p=4243","title":{"rendered":"WWII Rationing Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of this term&#8217;s WWII topic,\u00a0Primary 4-7\u00a0created some authentic rationing recipes today.\u00a0 P4 made fruity buns using a range of dried and fresh fruit ingredients.\u00a0 P5-7 created carrot biscuits.\u00a0 Each group had to select ingredients and use equipment hygienically and safely.\u00a0 Maths skills were required through weighing and measuring activities.<\/p>\n<p>We used the stimulus to write our own instruction text recipes, using &#8216;bossy&#8217; imperative verbs and key language features.<\/p>\n<p>The class tasted both recipes and evaluated them for taste, presentation and appeal.
