{"id":2179,"date":"2017-05-02T11:12:34","date_gmt":"2017-05-02T11:12:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/portpatrickprimary\/?p=2179"},"modified":"2017-05-02T11:12:34","modified_gmt":"2017-05-02T11:12:34","slug":"keepers-film-crew-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/portpatrickprimary\/?p=2179","title":{"rendered":"Keeper&#8217;s Film Crew Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday 28<sup>th<\/sup> of May, Portpatrick and Leswalt Primary schools came together for a very special event.\u00a0 We were joined by four members of the film crew for \u2018The Keepers\u2019 movie which is being made here right on our doorstep.<\/p>\n<p>The boys and girls used their Higher Order Thinking Skills to create probing questions to ask our guests. This provided a unique opportunity for us to find out about the world of work in the film industry as part of our ongoing \u2018Careers in the Community\u2019 research. We were pleased to receive 2 producers (Andy Evans &amp; Ade Shannon) and 2 scriptwriters (Celyn Jones and Joe Bone) &#8211;\u00a0all with very successful careers.\u00a0 The gentlemen were extremely accommodating and were delighted to answer the children\u2019s questions enthusiastically.\u00a0 We were even treated to an improvised role play to highlight the creative process of story writing.\u00a0 Joe and Celyn were a Spanish beach bather and a hungry blue whale respectively.\u00a0 They acted out the children\u2019s ideas in a delightful skit.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, both schools were presented with a wonderful keepsake of the occasion.
