Financial Support for Parent Councils<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Financial support from Dumfries and Galloway Council is available for operational costs and to promote the work of the Parent Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operational costs might include things like Clerks fees, funds for a membership to something, or costs for online platforms to promote wider engagement and participation of parents at meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other costs related to the organisation for events that promote the work of parent council and offer opportunities for parents to share views are also supported in line with your Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parent Councils can apply for funds up to \u00a3300 each academic year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to apply for financial support <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Financial support will only be paid into your Parent Council bank account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can not gift your Parent Council funds to the school budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appendix A: You must provide a report on any remaining Council funds held by your Parent Council before any new funds will be released. All Dumfries and Galloway Council funds must be spent in full before any further allocation is made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appendix B: Please complete the Parent Council Proposal Form to identify how the funds (up to \u00a3300) will be used, and how this will impact the work of the Parent Council and the wider parent forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications will be looked at on a weekly basis and can take a minimum of a month for payment to be released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that no payments will be made if DGC do not have an up to date copy of your Parent Council Constitution, Membership details and most recent AGM minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any funds made available to your Parent Council must be reported on as part of your Annual General Meeting Financial report. All Parent Council raised funds and Dumfries and Galloway Council funds should be part of your annual financial audit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spending Parent Council Funds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Funds can be carried over from one financial year to the next but must remain in your Parent Council bank account and spent on the items and activities that you identified on Appendix B Parent Council Proposal Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will still be required to confirm that you have spent the funds as identified on your form by completing Appendix A End of Year Financial Statement – Claim for Funds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must have your bank details on record with us in order to make the payment. If you change your bank details, you must inform us so we can issue you with the appropriate form from our finance department to complete and return<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
