What Happens to Our Food?

In P3/4 we have been learning about the digestive system. We took a hands on approach and watched as the food travelled from top to bottom.

On the menu today was meatballs, beans, crackers and orange juice. These combined in our ‘mouth’ with saliva and enzymes as we chewed it. IT SMELT DISGUSTING!

The food travelled through our intestines and mixed with acid creating a bubbling effect. (does that really happen in our bodies?)

Once the good parts were taken into our blood the bits left over were ready for the toilet!

By the end we were all a bit flushed!
