Bridge-Challenge

They identified a range of potential solutions, evaluating and modifying their ideas alongside their partners.

The pupils used the ipads to take photographs of their own designs. They also recorded them on their sheet.Their challenge was to come up with a design which would hold the most cubes. We pretended the cubes were people.

Here are some of their comments:

Caleb- We put the people along the bridge so they could get past each other.

Sophie- Our bridges could hold 18 or 23 people.

Amy- We were only allowed to use 4 sticks and 4 cups and couldn’t use anything to stick them together.

Chloe- The square design was a good idea because people on bikes could go one way and people walking can go at the other side.

They also used Duplo to construct bridges. They tested them using bears.
