Trust Non Native Invasive Species Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>P5-7 enjoyed a talk today by the Fisheries Trust all about the Non native invasive species that are found in Dumfries and Galloway.\u00a0 In the build up to this visit the class had been learning all about Native Scottish plants and animals, so this was really interesting for the class.\u00a0 They found out about Japanese Knotweed, Skunk Cabbage, Giant Hogweed, Himalayan Balsam, American Mink, Crayfish and Grey Squirrels.\u00a0 The children found out about how the Fisheries Trust are trying to control these species and how they are damaging areas of Dumfries and Galloway.\u00a0 The children enjoyed trying on the clothing used to spray some invasive species as well as looking at examples of real invasive
